The Hawaii Department of Transportation will be holding a public informational meeting for the Queen Kaahumanu Highway widening project to update the community on planned construction and anticipated traffic impacts. This second phase of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway widening project will widen the existing highway from two to four lanes over 5.2 miles from Kealakehe Parkway to the Kona International Airport. The construction notice-to-proceed date is set for Sept. 1.
